Sebastian Frederiks was appointed Country Head Wholesale Banking for ING in the Middle East in July 2021.
He leads the Middle East team, serving corporate clients, wealth funds and financial institutions.
Supported by specialist global sector and product teams and sustainable finance specialists, he works alongside local coverage teams to deliver a comprehensive offering.
Sebastian has over 20 years’ experience in financial institutions, 16 years of which have been spent in the Middle East.
He joined ING in 2018 to lead its Financial Institutions business in the Middle East.
Before that, he worked at ABN AMRO Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank and Al Hilal Bank.
Sebastian’s experience ranges across various roles in Financial Markets and Wholesale Banking Client Coverage covering Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Asset Managers and Large Corporate clients in different geographies including Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
