Mona Naqvi

Mona Naqvi is Global Head of Sustainable Capital Markets at S&P Global Sustainable1, responsible for investor engagement and elevating S&P’s sustainable product suite. Previously, she spearheaded the launch of the flagship S&P 500® ESG Index as Head of the North American ESG Index business for S&P Dow Jones Indices and supported institutional investors on climate goals as Director for S&P Global Trucost. Prior to joining S&P Global, Mona held various ESG leadership roles as Research Director of the 2° Investing Initiative, as a Climate Policy Advisory to the Obama Administration, and as an Economist at the Bank of England.
Mona graduated Summa Cum Laude in Government & Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE), and has published extensively on sustainable finance topics. She regularly appears on the likes of CNBC, Bloomberg, and other mainstream financial media, as a recognized ESG expert, educator and market commentator. Her work has afforded her numerous accolades including the 2019 FiNext Excellence in Finance Leadership Award, the Women in Asset Management Awards’ 2021 Index Leader Award and 2021 Next Generation Leader Award. Mona currently also sits on the Governance Council of the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), which aims to elevate health and wellbeing to the forefront of ESG frameworks and standards.
